Legend tells that Rock and Roll originated in the United States during the 50s, the result of a blend of blues, gospel, country and popular music from Tin Pan Alley<\/strong>. But if you know how to keep a secret, we will tell you the truth: Rock and Roll could have been born anywhere, at any time<\/strong>. No matter how many times it has come to life before, its music will always sound as fresh and thrilling as if it had been born yesterday!<\/p>\n

Did you know that Buddy Holly<\/strong>\u2019s song \u201cCrying, Waiting, Hoping\u201d was covered by The Beatles<\/strong> in the 60s, Keith Richard<\/strong> in 1983 and Cat Power<\/strong> in 2007? The magic of music is that its melodies and lyrics speak to us through the years. Good songs are written in a universal language. To give an example there is Richard Berry<\/strong>\u2019s “Louie Louie”, one of the most covered songs in history!<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of Rock and Roll clothes have been essential<\/strong> when it comes to setting yourself apart from the rest. Did you know that Moondog<\/strong> wore a Viking helmet, Sun Ra<\/strong> dressed like a pharaoh and Brian Eno<\/strong> did himself up as an alien? There are no rules! Patti Smith was inspired by the poet Rimbaud<\/strong> for the cover of her album Horses<\/em> (1975) and David Bowie<\/strong> wore a lady\u2019s dress for The Man Who Sold the World<\/em> (1970). Carl Perkins<\/strong> dedicated his song \u201cBlue Suede Shoes\u201d to his love for fashion, and then Elvis Presley<\/strong> covered it. Why would we dress normally when we could dress like a rockstar?<\/p>\n
